The Duchess Eyeshadow Quad - The MAC Osbournes Collection

Unless you have been living under a blogging rock for the last few months, you will of course know that Kelly and Sharon Osbourne have released a collection with MAC that started to appear in stores during the early parts of this month. Being a huge fan of the Osbournes anyway (many nights as a teen were spending watching The Osbournes at night time!) I knew I had to have a piece of the collection, and at the top of the list was Sharons Quad of eyeshadows! From the colours in each range (Kelly having more purples and Sharon having the warmer tones), Sharon's would be my favourite - and I was right.

I wasn't surprised to see the collection sell out like hot cakes (Strip Poker which is a nude lipstick from the Kelly Collection soldout within 12 hours at my MAC counter! With almost the entire collection selling out within a week - so I got this eyeshadow quad (and an item from Kellys collection) the day after release to make sure I didn't miss out.

FOTD: An afternoon shopping

So on Thursday, I once again met up with the absolutely lovely (and stunning!) Georgina from  after she finished work to go shopping - and I actually LOVED my make up that day. It took me four attempts, thanks to hayfever and my mascara deciding it wanted to stab me in the eye and make my eye water several times (which meant reapplying my base several times!) but I really liked the outcome!

Sleek - Del Mar Volume 1 Limited Edition Palette

This is a palette that I have been wanting for a long time. However, for several weeks it was only avaliable online and wasn't available in my local Superdrug store. However, finally last week I found it and grabbed it with both hands. As soon as I saw the preview of this palette online before it's initial release, I knew it had to be mine as it looked perfect for Spring/Summer as it contained lovely bright and pastel matte shades - something I'm definitely lacking in my eyeshadow collection. Of course I'm talking about Sleek's latest limited edition eyeshadow palette named Del Mar Volume 1.

Firstly, I would just like to say home much I love the packaging? Sleek never seem to disappoint me with their packaging for the limited edition products! They are all so eye catching and gorgeous, and definitely give a true feel as to what kind of eyeshadows await inside!

MUA Undress Your Skin Shimmer Highlighter

So I've been meaning to do this post for a while, however I wanted to give this product a few more weeks just to try and love it before I went ahead with this post. That sentence alone probably tells you what I think about this highlighter.  I know this little highlighter was a cult product among the blogging community, so as soon as i got the chance i grabbed it from the MUA stand and popped it in my basket and so it came home with me.

MUA Undress Your Skin

At £3 this is meant to be one of the best budget highlighters on the high street, so you can imagine my excitement when I finally got  my paws on this little thing. However when I it it home and went to use it, I found that it  lot more pinked toned and a lot more shimmery than I thought it would be. Imagine what fish scales look like - it's that kind of pink shimmer and to be honest it didn't suit my pale skin at all.

It looks absolutely gorgeous in the packaging, it does have a lovely shimmer to it and it has a wave design on it which I really like however I'm not a fan of the packaging itself. I think the white plastic packaging that some of the skin care and base products that some of the MUA products come with looks and feels slightly cheap - but at such a low cost, you can't be expecting too much. (They have since upped their game, and improved the packaging and made it look a little more expensive with the LUXE line that they have since brought out).

How To Improve Photos: White Balancing

When you start trying to figure out your camera - all the settings can be a little daunting, and you're probably like me when I first got my hands on a camera - worried about messing something in the settings up and not being able to get it back! Another topic that I see come up time and time again, especially during the Blogger chats on Sunday and Wednesday's is how to improve your photos for your blog. I see a lot of bloggers say that they wished they had a better camera or had a big DSLR camera so they can have better photos. In response, I always say one thing - it's not the camera, it's the lighting that can make or break a photo. I've said time and time before my iPhone and £40 point and shoot camera work just as well as my big DSLR camera and my bridge camera (a camera that is between a point and shoot and a DLSR).

Improving Photos White Balance

As I've said before, I studied photography at College and University, so I have picked up some rather handy tips a long the way. One of those tips that I couldn't live without is White Balancing. This simple little trick can improve your photos 100%. Ever had to struggle with lighting to take photos? Is it too cloudy out or are you having to take photos indoors so you have tints on your image? In dull lighting you can get a blue tint on your image, or if you are using an artifical light/indoor light you can get an orange tint on your image. Yes, you can solve this in photoshop - but then you run the risk of altering the swatch of make-up you took ages perfecting. However, White Balancing will solve this problem for you - it will remove the tints and give you a clear, true to life image.

May Favourites

I have to be honest, it was hard picking out products this month for favourites - as I have been loving the same products as last month, to be quiet honest (so, yes there is a duplicate in this favourites post from a previous one - so forgive me!)

I'll start with the duplicate, and get that over with.

Shade 110 by Kate Moss for Rimmel
I love this lipstick so, so much. I have worn it constantly over the last few months. I love it on days I can't be bothered - I just pop this gorgeous bright coral lipstick on and my make-up instantly looks better and looks like I have made more of an effort than I have. Also, since we have been having a bit better weather sunshine-wise lately, this lipstick has definitely made me feel a lot more summery when I wear it, which is never a bad thing really? This lipstick is also one of the only matte lipsticks that I find moisturising as I can have dry lips at times due to the air con at work, so normally matte lipsticks just feel dry to me and settle into lines - however this lipstick is gorgeous! It glides on without tugging, and feels lovely to wear and I don't feel the need to add balm, like I do with other matte lipsticks. You can read my full review here.

Illamasqua Cream Pigment in Hollow

Being a pale skinned lady, one of the banes of my life is trying to find the perfect products to use to contour with. I have tried so many products over the last year or so but they all end up being too dark or too orange toned when they oxodise. So after doing even more research, I discovered that a lot pale skinned ladies had raved about how fantastic Illamasqua's cream pigmented named Hollow was for contouring, as they didn't contain any of the usual dark/orange tones - so after swatching it every time I went remotely near the Illamasqua counter I finally picked it up - staff discount and money on my beauty card made it easier on the pocket!

A Guide to Basic HTML

One of the most daunting parts of websites and creating pages on the internet is tackling HTML. Luckily, as I studied media and website building was included as part of my degree (plus endless hours creating websites on Piczo when I was a teen) has helped me gain some good knowledge of HTML, so I thought I would share it with you.

HMTL is the coding that makes up a website - it dictates everything from the font and it's size and style, to layouts on your websites. It can also add features such as disabling right clicking to prevent users from taking your content to helping with your SEO to increase traffic to your blog. But don't worry about that, this post is going to help you with the very basics of HTML.Most people won't need it if they are using the standard 'new post' box that appears when you start creating your post, but at the top there are two options 'compose' and 'HTML' - the compose option opens it up like word, and is the layout you are probably most used to seeing, it gives you the editing tools you need to create your post. However, if you click the 'HTML' option, it opens it up like Notepad and you have to enter the coding yourself to change everything from the spaces between paragraphs to how big or small you want your lettering - including the font style and colour!

HTML to help with fonts is probably one of the most used HTML codes (along with pictures and links) that will be used when it comes to blogging. So here are the most common and probably the simplest HTML codes to alter your text.

<b> insert text here </b>    - this will create bold letters.
<i>  insert text here </i>     - this will create italic letters.
<u> insert text here </u>    - this will create underline letters.
<s> insert text here </s>     - this will create letters that have a line through them.
<center> insert text here </center> - this will center the text (or image) to your page.

FOTD: Family Meal Make-up

On Saturday, I went out for a meal after work with my family and a family friend to a local pub near us that does that most amazing food and deserts, as well as being super friendly staff and a brilliant atmosphere. We semi dressed up for the occasion but I still didn't want to over-do my make-up, this is what I ended up doing.
