MAC Alluring Aquatic: Goddess of the Sea

So recently, I took advantage of the 10% off beauty during the Summer Spectacular event at Debenhams and picked up something I had been wanting for a while - something from MAC's Alluring Aquatic collection, and considering I get a further 20% off considering I work in the store - it was definitely an opportunity I couldn't pass up! I also picked up some amazing bargains from Illamasqua so expect them later in the week.

The product I picked up from MAC was the Goddess of the Sea - this was the second choice, as the lipstick I wanted originally was out of stock. This was the only lipstick that was left in stock - so after I purchased this, the MAC counter and no lipsticks from the collection AT ALL. Which meant it was clearly fate I was meant to own this lipstick.

LOOK HOW PRETTY THE PACKAGING IS! I know you have all probably seen this packaging a thousand and one times by now considering this collection has been out for some time, but I don't care, It's so beautiful! When I first saw the packaging, I though the water droplets were just a print or design on the packaging itself, but both on the box and the lipstick itself - the water droplets are raised! Which I thought was a lovely extra touch.

Goddess of the Sea is a deep raspberry/plum colour that I thought was an absolutely gorgeous shade! This lipstick is a cremesheen lipstick and the consistency is light and creamy and doesn't settle into any lines on the lips. It applies smoothly and doesn't go on streaky at all. Personally, for me, i find them a little bit drying at times - but this is absolutely fine once a little bit of balm is applied to help moisturize them for me. As usual, this lipstick has the lovely vanilla scent that all MAC lipsticks have.

It is comfortable to wear and last for a good few hours before a re-application is needed. I wore it for work the same day I purchased it and it felt comfortable for my entire shift. I know some people find these lipsticks hydrating/moisturizing for me personally, I need a balm alongside this lipstick. It does give a nice subtle shine though so it's not a completely matte finish but nor is it completely shiny and in your face. I do feel though that this gorgeous shades would look even more beautiful on ladies with a darker skin tone than me. (One of the perils so being pale!)

Have you tried this lipstick, what did you think? What's your favourite item from the Alluring Aquatic collection?
