MUA Colour Blast Eyeshadow Tint

As I said in this post about the Pretty Edgy palette when you spent £6 or more on MUA products in Superdrug you got a free a gift - a Colour Blast eyeshadow tint. There were four colours to choose from (light pink, beige, light brown or dark brown). I went for light brown which was named Bring it Back.

The product comes in crayon formula which you twist up to reveal more product, I much prefer this kind of crayon rather than sharpening! The shade name is only on the plastic wrapping you peel off (you know the stuff, the clear plastic that destroys nails varnish as you try to pry it off) which is annoying. MUA are getting better with naming their products with names rather than numbers and putting it on items, but they must have forgotten about the eyeshadow tints which is a shame. It's those small details I like and appreciate.

As you can see, the crayon itself is quite chunky and is true to colour - the same shade as the packaging it comes it, which is good as you can just grab it form you make-up bag without having to check which colour you have. The lid fastens well, but there is no statisfying click when you close it so if I were you, I wouldn't risk taking it in your bag. I bought a lip crayon from MUA which looked exactly the same as this and felt the same way in terms of the lid sliding on and the lid came off in my bag and got pink lipstick everywhere

The crayon is really smooth to apply and you get even coverage really easily and quickly - quite perfect if you are in a rush! It's a beautiful golden brown shade with a small amount of gold shimmer running through it so give it something extra rather than just a flat brown tone. As you can see with the swatch on the far left of the picture, this crayon blends easily and looks gorgeous and subtle if you are going for a no make-up makeup! I have been wearing this all over my lid and a little underneath my lower lashes as the colour goes beautifully with my blue eyes. I blend it out at the edges and add a darker brown for a little bit of depth in the outer V and a tiny amount of mascara to add some definition to the lash line and i'm ready to go! That has been my go-to work make-up recently, and I'm really liking it! It's definitely making my eyes my stand out feature which I like. I can definitely see this working as a base for a brown smokey eye too!

As I said, this was a free product for spending over £6 on MUA in Superdrug, I think the offer is still on but if it isn't you can buy it for £3 (athough at the minute on the MUA website it is on sale at £2). There are only four shades avaliable in Superdrug stores, however online there are six shades avaliable.

Have you tried the eyeshadow tint yet?
