Make Up Revolution Vamp Lipstick in Rebel with Cause

I picked up this lipstick on my very first Makeup Revolution Haul and as soon as I saw it, I knew I had to have it as it's in one of my most favourite shades - a deep berry pink, it just so happens to be a beautiful shade for Autumn/Winter as well! This gorgeous little lipstick is named Rebel with Cause (have to admit, I am definitely a fan of the shade name as well! It definitely suits the lipstick!) As soon as I swatched it in store I fell in love with the quality and shade of the lipsticks - and it turns out there was only one left in the whole of Superdrug  -it was clearly fate, and it quickly made it's way home with me.

This lipstick retails at £1 and so for that price, I really wasn't expecting much but I was actually blown away. I was expecting a soft colour without much payoff and for it to have a waxy texture so many of the cheaper lipsticks have. But instead, I was met with a rich, creamy lipstick that glides on effortlessly and with such high pigmentation that it would even give some MAC lipsticks a run for their money! I can safely say this is a dupe for a MAC lipstick as well.. but i'll get on to that later.

LUSH D'Fluff Strawberry Shaving Soap*

This month I was lucky enough to receive a few goodies thanks to the guys over at Meadowhall Shopping Centre and one of those items was this - Lush's D'Fluff Strawberry Shaving Soap* It's something that I have been meaning to try for a few weeks now after spotting it in my local store whilst stocking up on my American Cream conditioner.

It says it is Strawberry scented but as soon as I opened the typical smell of a Lush store hit me instead - although, is that really a negative? Lush stores smell incredible anyway! I thought that maybe the strawberry scent would come out once I had opened it and used it a few times, but no - I still just smelt the standard Lush store smell. It still smells gorgeous though, so I really don't mind!

The consistency was thicker than I was expecting - I was expecting a soft mousse but it felt more like a very, very thick cream that needed to melt a little with the heat from your skin before you could lather it up on your legs which I found did make it a little hard to get out the tub and I found myself using a little more than needed before I got used to how much product I would need.I thought I would need quite a lot of product because of how thick it was so I assumed that it wouldn't go along way wither, but I was pleasantly surprised and once the soap had melted a little from the body heat, it created a gentle lather and I didn't need as much as first thought.

Make Up Revolution Atomic Lipstick Collection

Last month I was lucky enough to attend the #SheffieldBBloggers meet up and we each received an incredible goody bag filled to the brim with some amazing products which companies and brands were kind enough to donate for the event - one of those brands was Make Up Revolution, the amazing guys behind the brand had sent a selection of products out that would be popped into our goody bags. I'm of course talking about the Atomic Lipstick Collection which features 5 lipsticks with a whole range of shades and colours to chose from. I was really excited to see what we had received these as some of the colours I had been wanting to try for a while now so I was really happy I was finally able to try them out - I'm walking about the stunning classic red shade, and I had seen the green lipstick, named Serpent do the rounds on the bloggersphere, so even though I wouldn't class it as an every day lipstick (!!) I was still excited to have a play with it once I got home.

Welcome to the Pleasuredome by Makeup Revolution

When I found out that Make Up Revolution was now in stock in a Superdrug in Sheffield, I pretty much made it my mission to go down and pick up a few things as I had never tried the brand before that - I already knew I was on to a winner as in the six months the brand has been around, they've already caused a frenzy in the blogger world for their amazing products, and I was definitely not disappointed. I think I spent a good half an hour in front of the stand, swatching products and trying to make up my mind which ones where to come home with me.

As soon as I found the Welcome To The Pleasuredome Palette - I knew it was one of the items that just had to come home with me. I know I made the right decision when I found myself using this palette every day

This palette contains 18 highly pigmented eyeshadows, that include 12 shimmer shades and 6 matte shades. The palette isn't huge but you do get alot of product which means they have used every bit of space avaliable to them which is brilliant as it doesn't use a lot of space - especially if like me, you don't have much space to store your ever expanding makeup collection, but they still give you a crazy amount of eyeshadows to play with. In the lid there is also a mirror taking up the whole space which means combined with the size, this mirror would be fine to carry in your bag and you can touch up your makeup or change it whilst on the go which always makes it a winner for me.

The Elysium Palette by MUA

When I first saw that MUA were bringing out the Elysium Palette, I knew I had to have it! The colours in this little palette looked incredible - all soft pinks with some shimmers, something that I think works gorgeously with us ladies that have pale skin! I recently was in Meadowhall doing a bit of shopping before my eyebrow appointment with Benefit, and I popping into Superdrug just to have a look around when I spotted one of these palettes left - I had no idea that they had already been released, so when I saw that there was only one left on the entire MUA stand, I grabbed it with both hands and swiftly made my way to the til point to make this baby mine.

One thing that I really liked with this palette as soon as I saw it was that MUA have finally listened to everyone and haven't included one of those foam applicator "brushes" that so many companies include with their palettes. Instead, they have included a double ended eyeliner with incredible pigmentation and staying power. On one end of the pencil there is a deep black and on the other end there is a peachy nude shade, which again stays put once applied. This is definitely a welcome change, and I am very impressed with the quality of them as well.

Hand Creams to Combat Winter

For a few weeks now, partly due to the colder weather we having been having and partly due to the horrendous Air Conditioning at work, plus having a very hands on job, I've had really dry hands - so I've been on a mission to get them feeling a bit more happy! So I thought I would share with you some of my favourite hand creams to help get them feeling a bit more soft and lovely feeling!

These are all the perfect sizes to keep in your handbag and all have a screw on lid which stays on firmly, making sure you can always have your favourite hand cream on the go for whenever your hands need a bit of love, but you can always be rest assured that your bag won't be covered in all kinds of creams by the end of the day - which is always a bonus, right?

L'Occitane Hand Cream for Dry Skin is the thickest cream out of the three and is the only one to contain 20% Shea Butter which makes it for me, the heavy duty stuff for when my hands are really suffering - for example on those bitter frosty mornings or when I've had long days at work. I was lucky enough to pick up this hand cream when it was a free gift in this months Marie Claire magazine, which is still available if you want to pick one up (there is four hand creams to chose from!), so if you are new to L'Occitane or want to try one of their hand creams before you treat yourself to something from the brand, this is the perfect way to treat yourself and try something out.

The #SheffieldBBloggers Meet Part 2

As I said in my previous post - Part 1 of the #SheffieldBBloggers Meet, I said about how fantastic the goody bags we were kindly given were. I also briefly went over the raffle and some of the generous prizes - so because there was so much, here is a post dedicate to it all and to say a massive thank you to all the companies that got involved with the event, whether it be kindly sending something in for the goody bags and putting something in the raffle - they went above and beyond!

I was so surprised to see some of the brands that had gotten involved - I had been wanting to try Nanshy brushes and Crown brushes for a while now, and I'm so happy I've finally been given the chance after they kindly donated some brushes to go into goody bags! They were two of my favourite items that I found after digging around in my bag, which was kindly provided and personalised thanks to The Blogger Programme? They printed the hashtag we were using for the even on the front of it for us which made it feel even more special.

The #SheffieldBBlogger Meet - Part 1

This weekend I was lucky enough to attend the #SheffieldBBlogger meet up in Sheffield City Centre that was hosted by the lovely Georgina, Heather and Ashleigh. There was only a limited number of spaces avaliable and was on a first come first serve basis, I only found out about this meet up a few weeks before it was due to take place to I popped my name on the reserve list, You can guess how happy I was when a message appeared in my inbox saying someone had dropped out and that I was able to go. I checked to make sure I was off work as soon as possible and confirmed that I would be attending.

The meet was held at Maveli resturant on Glossop road, Sheffield which is just off West Street. Maveli is a Southern Indian Resturant that seemed like a cosy and intimate place - both for the meet and for dining in. The owners and staff were lovely and accomodating, not to mention served delicious food which gave us a good taste of what the resturant had to offer! I can see it being a lovely place to dine out at.

What is it like getting Foundation matched at MAC?

I got given a giftcard at by my Manager at work for our department winning a competition in the Company, so when we had our 10% off Beauty and Fragrance last month, I knew that it was the best time to spend my giftcard. I'm a bad beauty bloggers, as I had never tried or owned a MAC foundation before so I thought as I wasn't wasting money if I didn't like it, that it would be the perfect chance to buy one. So, I popped down to my work on my day off (!) and went to the MAC counter and was greeted by a lady who asked if I needed any help. I explained to her that I was looking to get a foundation but as I had never tried a MAC foundation before I had no idea what shade I was. She got me to sit at one of the chairs in front of a large mirror and grabbed a foundation, after we discussed what kind of finish I liked.

I was after an every day foundation and one that was medium to full coverage and that would last well as I was doing quite a few shifts that were quite long (last week I ended up doing a 14 hour shift!) so I would need my make-up to stay in place. I wasn't after a matte finish either, or a really dewey finish so she decided that MAC Studio Sculpt foundation was the best one for me. She then grabbed two shades and took my current foundation off with a face wipe, which I was suprised at, sure at a place like MAC they should take your make-up off with actual make-up remover and cotton wool? (such places like Benefit and Bobbi Brown take it off with that, so I would have thought somewhere like MAC would too?)

How to get Shiny and Healthy hair

Anyone who knows me, will know that I have a constant battle with my hair and that we have a love/hate relationship. During my teenage years, I pretty much dyed my hair every week (normally changing colours and styles every 3 - 4 weeks) to the point were it was so incredibly dry, short and unstyleable. At one point, I dyed it black before bleaching it TWICE and going pink in one night. Yes, 4 hairs inclduing 2 lots of bleach in one night, you can see in my hair tag just how much I dyed my hair over the years. It's taken me a good 4 to 5 years to get it to a stage where it's actually decent and starting to be healthy again so I thought I would share some tips that I have learnt along the way.

BEFORE                                                            AFTER

When trying to get your hair healthy again, it's important to remember it's not going to happen over night and depending on the damage you have done to your hair, it can take months - or in my case, years.

Updated Skincare Routine

Over the past six months, I will openly admit to having a very poor skincare routine. As in, I used to use face wipes and the odd face mask once a week and some moisturiser if I remembered. However, this made my skin horrible and as you can imagine, my make-up wasn't the best! Because I wasn't moisturising, after a few hours my foundation would go cakey. My full skincare routine kicked in when myself and Georgina from SheMightBeLoved went shopping and she helped to start updating my skincare.

She introduced me to Lush Skincare (previously to this, I always used to associate Lush with just bath bombs and never would have thought to go there for anything other than that). She explained to me about there natural ingredients and we picked out the best two products for my skin type - which is normal to combination.

Now, I have a good skincare routine and my skin loves me for it - my make-up sits better and lasts longer, and at the end of the day I no longer have cake face. I start with taking my make-up off using Ultrabland Facial Cleanser by Lush Cosmetics  I use this to remove my makeup, as the beeswax into the products helps break down the make-up before removing it with some cotton wool pads or a damp face cloth. I then use Eau Roma Water Toner Water by Lush Cosmetics Both of these products contain rose water which helps to calm any redness, which I have on my cheeks and I can definitely see an improvement! My skin always feels fresher and clean when I've used my toner water.

Is It Okay If I Don't Drink Alcohol?

This is probably going to be quite a different post, I wouldn't say controversial but it's definitely different. One of the biggest questions I get asked on nights out or when I go out for drinks or a meal with someone, or one of the biggest things people are shocked about when they first meet me is that I don't drink alcohol at all. A lot of people don't seem to grasp that it's okay if you don't drink alcohol and you can actually have fun without needing to intoxicate yourself.

So, this post may answer some questions as to why some people don't drink and it's not weird if you don't want to have alcohol.

When people find out I don't drink there is only two types of responses I get, one response being "that's amazing, and a really rare thing to find. Well Done!", but I don't see it as an achievement? The second response I get it shock, and people immediately go "Why?" before asking question after question. One of the biggest questions that anyone asks me when they find out I don't drink alcohol is WHY? Why don't I drink alcohol? Is it for religious reasons? Do I just not like the taste? Does alcohol affect me badly?

Do Benefit listen to complaints?

If you are a regular reader of my blog or follow me on twitter, you will know that I have been getting my eyebrows waxed and tinted at Benefit for just over two years, and have posted about previously and have never had a problem until recently. On the last appointment I went too, the lady who waxed my eyebrows did them unevenly and left one eyebrow with hardly any hair left on one side and wiped my mascara down my face when she was removing the product I had put on. Then where she came to adding powder, she did them 4x darker than I wanted and larger that I had asked for and made one go down past my eye! The above photo is from a time when they actually did them how I wanted, now just imagine those a very, very dark brown and the left going down past my eye and the right eyebrow a lot thicker than the other - that's how I ended up leaving Benefit, and that was after I kept asking for touch ups!

It made me so self conscious that I had to go downstairs and visit The Body Shop and they kindly let me use whatever products I needed to fix my eyebrows - I ended up using foundation and concealer to tone down the brows after brushing them through with a spolie to get rid of as much excess powder as I could before I was remotely happy with them. Big thanks to The Body Shop for helping out!

A few weeks later, I was at the Northern Blogger Meet up in the centre of Sheffield and Benefit just so happen to be there, the ladies who where there were Kitty, the manager of the Sheffield City Centre branch and Jamie, who is the area manager from Benefit and covers South Yorkshire. At the event they explained about the brow bar and how an appointment is meant to go, and I innocently told them that I hadn't had what they described - no-one had ever offered me a brow consulation or offered to do brow mapping, they've always just sat me down - asked me what colour and got on with it. Jamie kindly took my number and said she would be in touch - thinking that she was just saying that to make it seem like my opinion mattered like most companies do, I was surprised when I go a phone call a few days later from the manager about my complaint...

Make Up Revolution Sugar and Spice Blush and Contour Palette

Make Up Revolution Sugar and Spice Blush and Contour Palette

Make Up Revolution have been making their way around the bloggersphere ever since they came on to the scene 6 months ago - everyone has been raving about their products, and finally I was able to get my hands on them when I found out which Superdrug store near me sold them. For me, I always prefer to buy make-up in store rather than online as I always like to swatch things first - being pale, my skin is always tricky to buy colours for.

One of the items I decided to pick up during my mini Make Up Revolution haul was this! The Sugar and Spice Blush and Contour palette - there are two blush and contour palettes too choose from but I decided that this one would go better with my skin tone and I also thought it housed better colours for the coming Autumn/Winter months.

This palette features a range of deep dusty pinks, to dark barbie pinks to naturals - so there is definitely something for everyone - there are two shimmers on the end, a highlight and a pink shimmer, amazing to add a bit of shimmer or help to spice up an evening makeup!

The Body Shop Amazonian Wild Lily Shower Gel

The Body Shop Amazonian Wild Lily Shower Gel

As I said in my August Favourites post,  when I recently got my new Love Your Body card after using up all my stamps, I was given a free gift from The Body Shop for renewing my card - and it was a full sized Shower Gel. There was a range of 6 scents to choose from - all ranging around the typical fruity scents that The Body Shop normally have on offer - such as Strawberry, Vanilla, Japanese Cherry Blosson and Satsuma - I instantly sniffed this one, the Amazonian Wild Lily as I was already drawn to it because of the light green colouring, and I fell in love with the scent!

The scent smells so incredibly fresh - like water and cucumbers, that kind of fresh scent and as soon as you open it up when your in the bath or the shower you instantly are hit with this fresh scent and it definitely helps you wake up in the morning - especially if you, like me, have trouble with actually feeling awake in the morning before work, this Shower gel definitely helps!

The Body Shop Vitamin E Aqua Boost Sorbet

The Body Shop Vitamin E Aqua Boost Sorbet

So a few months ago when The Body Shop released their Sorbet range, mainly consisting of the Body Sorbet which came out in a variety of flavours, the bloggersphere was full of reviews and first impressions of those, and I feel like the Vitamin E Aqua Boost Sorbet severely lacked interest. I know it's now start to pop up on a few blogs but not as much as I would have though.

I got this around 2 months ago and I have been loving it ever since, as soon as I samped it in store I fell in love with the product, with how it smell and how it felt when applied and when it had been given the chance to sink in to the skin. It comes in a sturdy frosted glass pot with a screw on lip and this is definitely a weighty product thanks to the packaging and it feels really sturdy when holding it which I like.

This sorbet claims to be a cooler version of the Vitamin E Moisturizing cream, as well as that this Sorbet includes mattifying products so you don't need to worry about getting a shiny face afterwards, which is definitely a plus - especially if you use this on the go! The texture of this sorbet is so incredibly cooling and light on the skin and personally, my skin feels hydrated as soon as I apply this product and continues to feel that way for several hours after application.

August Favourites

Collection The Body Shop Simply Beautiful Collection Aqua Boost Sorbet Cream Puff Lip Cream Amazonian Lily Shower Gel

I know, I know - I'm late with this post! But here is my favourites for the month of August! Throughout this month I have kept my make-up and everything very simple and going for the more natural approach to things to have a change - and I've been liking it! I've also been trying a few new skin care products that have definitely made their way into my skincare routine and I can definitely see an improvement. I won't talk about everything in depth as I have full review posts coming up in the future about each individual item.

Zizzi Ristorante at Sheffield Meadowhall

Zizzi Ristorante Sheffield Meadowhall

The other night myself, my dad, my stepmum and her friend went out for a family meal to celebrate my stepmums birthday. We couldn't decide where to go but when my stepmum got some vouchers e-mailed to her from Zizzi - our decision was made for us!

Zizzi's is an italian ristorante located in the Oasis Dining Quarter of Meadowhall Shopping centre on the upper floor- although there are more scattered across the country, including one in Sheffield City Centre. Although it's located in the heart of Meadowhall, once inside it still feels cosy and like a restaurant.

Zizzi Ristorante Sheffield Meadowhall

When we first arrived we were given a table right at the very front of the restaurant and my chair was pretty much in the entrance of the restaurant - you see in the first photo there is three plants at the very front? our table was that one at the front between the first two plants! So people were bumping into our chairs as they entered and left the restaurant, so we requested to be moved - they gladly let us and clean and set up a table for us further in the restaurant. Sitting here made it feel a lot more like a restaurant less like a place to grab something to eat mid-shop, considering we had dressed up for the occasion we definitely wanted to feel like we were at a restaurant instead of a cafe in Meadowhall.

Northern Blogger Meet Up in Sheffield

On Sunday, I was lucky enough to attend the Northern Bloggers Meet Up in Sheffield and I had been looking forward to it all week! We all meet up at a lovely little Cafe named Eten which is right in the centre of Sheffield, but yet tucked away so it still felt cosy. I had never heard or seen this cafe before, but after this meet I will certainly go again!

A few of the other bloggers that were there had ordered food which looked absolutely incredible and was beautifully presented! I soon found a seat and sat near Faye, who I have met before at the Fruition Hair & Beauty demo night a few weeks ago - I also sat near Emily and Lauren who were really lovely! So many bloggers attended, I think there was over 35 people there which was brilliant and really added to the atmosphere. Everyone was having fun, and we all had a giggle when as soon as something happened, or a product was shown everyone jumped out of their seats with their cameras in hand!

MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquer - The Full Collection

If you have been reading my blog for a while, you will know at the start of the year I reviewed MUA's Lip Lacquer line, however since then they have released four new shades so I thought I might as well do an updated post which includes better photos and covers the whole 9 shades. I did want to do this a few weeks ago however, one of the new shades was impossible to get hold of - Halcyon. Every single time I popped into Superdrug they were sold out - however, I went in after work one day last week and they had one left, and it came home with me!

MUA Make Up Academy Luxe Velvet Matte Lip Lacquers Reckless Kooky Funk Atomic Serene Tranquility Aflush Criminal Halcyon

The four new shades make sure that this collection now has something for everyone - previously they were all very bright shades of reds and pinks - and even a dark purple! But the new shades include pale pinks and nudes so there is definitely a colour for everyone. I'm sure I've said before but I absolutely love the packaging for the Luxe Line from MUA - the sleek black with gold detailing and frosted tubes make these look so much more expensive than their £3 price tag!

A Bobbi Brown Makeover with Pro Artist Amy Conway

Bobbi Brown Pro Artist Amy Conway

Image take from here.

Earlier this month, I got the opportunity to pop along to House of Fraser in Meadowhall where one of Bobbi Browns Pro Artists, Amy Conway was going to be giving tips to create the perfect look and help with make overs and make up lessons.

Amy Conway is one of Bobbi Browns Pro Artists and has worked closely with Bobbi Brown herself.  Amy has appeared on QVC and has worked globally with the brand so I definitely couldn't pass up this opportunity to learn some tips!

Meadowhall Blogger Event - Cocktail Class at Chao Baby

Palm Sugar Lounge Chao Baby Sheffiled Meadowhall

Last week I was kindly invited down to Meadowhall for the second Bloggers Hub meet. This was arranged to take place at the Palm Sugar bar, which is a part of the Chao Baby resturant which is next to the Palm Sugar lounge, to learn how to make cocktails and mocktails (for those under 18, those who were driving, and awkward ones like myself - who don't drink!)

We gathered there around noon and introduced ourselves before making ourselves comfy around the circular bar where Matt, who was the Mixologist, showed us how to make cocktails and mocktails after honing his skills in Sydney, Australia (does anyone else think of the Tom Cruise movie, Cocktail?). He even got some of us up to make the cocktails and get really involved with the process which was brilliant.

Argan Oil Pre Launch at The Body Shop with Meadowhall Shopping Center

The Body Shop Argan Oil Range

I was kindly invited by The Body Shop and Meadowhall to pop down to one of the two stores in the shopping center to learn more about the brand new Argan Oil range that The Body Shop have just released ahead of their launch party next week, where there is going to be lots of exciting things happening in store.

The Body Shop use ingredients from all over the world and in 1987 they launched their Community Fair Trade programme meaning they trade fairly with their suppliers for example they source their ingredients from traditional artisans, small scale farmers and rural co-ops and in turn provide them with good trading practices and independence building prices. To date, their Community Trade programme helps and brings real benefits to over 300,000 people!

The Moroccan Argan Oil is carefully pressed from the best Argan nuts, that are hand cracked in South West Morocco by the local wommen of the Berber Tribe. The Kernels are pressed and filtered slowly over 48 hours to extract the purest and most high quality oil possible before making their way into the products.

Montagne Jeunesse Peel Off Face Masks in Mango Tango & Runny Honey

Montagne Jeunesse Peel off Face Mask Mango Tango Runny Honey

I've been using Montagne Jeunesse face masks for a while, both the the Mud ones and the Peel off ones. However, when I was in Primark recently I spotted these where which I assume are exclusive to Primark in the flavours of Mango Tango and Runny Honey, immediately I thought they both would smell absolutely yummy and at 90p each, I couldn't say no! So a packet of each flavour soon made it's way into my basket.

I've had a few pamper nights since I bought these so I could test them out (like I needed a reason to pop on a face mask!) so here's what I thought...

Montagne Jeunesse Peel off Face Mask Mango Tango Runny Honey

Mango Tango was definitely my favourite out of the two - mainly because Mango (alongside Cherry) is one of my favourite fruits - both the scent and taste. This face mask is a mix of Mango and Noni Fruit to create a gorgeous tropical scent.

Blogger Event: Fruition Hair & Beauty Demo night

Monday night I was invited to my first ever blogger event! It was the Fruition Hair and Beauty Demo night at the Revolucion De Cuba bar in Sheffield, just off of West Street in the City Centre. Having lived in Sheffield for almost 8 years now, I had never been to this bar before or even heard of it - turns out it's right next door to my hairdressers! Who Knew! It was a really nice venue with a beachy feel to it that I really liked - the ceiling has big wooden fans which absolutely made no difference to the heat inside the venue. I loved meeting more Sheffield bloggers - I know that they're out there but I never seem to meet any, but I finally did and it was amazing finally being able to match names to those blogs!

The night had different things going off at all times - from Lateysha from MTV's The Valleys have hair extensions applied by Kerri from Fruition Hair & Nails, who were the lovely hosts for the night. There were makeovers, massages, fashion and Lush things going off all at the same time.. so myself and Lucy from LucyLoves went exploring after we got over our initial nerves and tried a bit of everything.

The Body Shop: The Essential Brush Collection

The Body Shop Essential Brush Collection Foundation Eyeshadow Blush

Recently, I couldn't find 2 of my brushes from The Body Shop (one of my slanted brushes and my shadow brush) from what I recall, I think they went missing when I moved my room around. So, I decided, why not take advantage of The Body Shop's 3 for 2 on makeup and skincare which they have on at the minute - I wanted a blush brush too, so it was of course meant to be!

However, when I went in, I found this! A set of three brushes (Blush Brush, Eyeshadow brush and Foundation brush) for £18 - this in itself is a bargain as their brushes range from £8 - £16 per brush and it contained 2 of the brushes I was after. However, I still took advantage of the 3 for 2 offer and still picked up my slanted brush plus a their new face sorbet. I definitely managed to get myself a little bargain! For four brushes it should be (if were working on averages) £40 and then another £8 or so for the face sorbet. But because of the offer and the brush set - plus having a 'Love Your Body' card ensures you another 10% off the total making the total cost of all 4 brushes and the face sorbet £26. Bargain.

In this review, if you hadn't of guessed, i'll be looking at the set itself - I have already posted a review on the slanted brush which you can read here and you can expect a post on the lovely little gem that is the face sorbet soon!

The Limited Edition Rio Rio i-Divine palette by Sleek

I loved the look of the Rio Rio palette as soon as I saw the promo photos for it - I am definitely lacking in bright eye shadows after years of loving my neutrals and browns I finally felt it was time to branch out and be brave - I know, that's a strange thing to say coming from a person who loves their bright lipsticks, has had bright pink hair and isn't afraid of colour! However, I think I'm on a personal mission to own every Sleek Palette that comes out, there is something about them I just love!

The Rio Rio palette is based on the bright colours of the Rio Carnival and to celebrate everything about Brazil and nodding to the World Cup that was held in Brazil earlier this year. This palette is filled with the brights and vivid colours you would expect to find at a carnival but also pleasantly contains some soft colours such a beige, white and a light soft brown shade. The Rio Rio i-Divine palette also contains glitters, shimmers and mattes so there is definitely something for everyone, no matter what type of look you like to wear.

A Bobbi Brown Make Up Lesson: Pretty Powerful in 10 Steps

This was my second makeover and makeup lesson that I had at Bobbi Brown (you can read my first experience with Bobbi Brown here) I love that Bobbi Brown provide these lessons and for free without any pressure to buy anything after. They offer a variety of lessons for all your needs from basic skin care to a full on party look. Previously, I had opted for the "Classic or Smokey eye" lesson but this time I really decided to test the brand and lessons, and booked myself in for the "Pretty Powerful in 10 Steps" lesson.

The Pretty Powerful in 10 steps lesson teaches you everything from good skincare to a full face of make-up. With the lesson I had had previously, which was Classic or Smokey eyes, being quite dark and suitable for a night time look - this time myself and the make up artist, named Collette, decided to go for a daytime spring look.

The Pretty Powerful in 10 Steps lesson is meant to be 45 minutes long, however, myself and Collette got on like a house of fire and it ended up being 2 hours long as she talked me through an entire skin care range and made sure I was 100% happy with everything and I got a chance to have a proper look at the products and understand them, and why she used each product the way she did.

Collette firstly removed my makeup using their Cleansing Oil and their Longwear eye makeup remover, she asked me to hold a cotton wool pad on to each eye lid to remove any eye makeup and mascara as Bobbi Brown likes to soak mascara off your lashes rather than rubbing them to remove the product. We spent a good few minutes talking about which skin care range would be best suited for my skin and we decided the hydrating range would be most suitable at the minute. Because of the hot weather we have been having here in England at the minute, combined with the Air Con at work, my skin has been rather dry at the minute as well as some redness on my cheeks which I've always had.

LUSH Shampoo: Rehab

A while ago I mentioned that I had tried Lush's American Cream conditioner  and loved it and wanted to try more products from their hair care range. I popped in on my lunch break from work a few weeks ago and got chatting to a lovely sales assistant who talked me through the majority of the shampoo's and we decided Rehab would be best for my hair.

I have funny hair - the middle and towards the ends get dry, but the rest doesn't. I wash my hair every other day - so for example, i'll wash it, miss a day, wash it, miss a day, wash it etc and on the days I don't wash my hair, it's okay but you can tell it's not freshly washed and by the end of the day it's starting to look greasy. The sales assistant informed me that Rehab would help rid my scalp of excess oils which I thought would be perfect!

Lush Rehab Shampoo

As soon as I tried Rehab I could tell my hair had improved - it smelt gorgeous straight away. When you first open the bottle and pour some in your hands and start to massage it into your scalp it kind of smells like After Eights! Which I loved, but also expected as Rehab does contain Peppermint. This combined with Juniper are said to stimulate the blood flow which helps the scalps condition over time.

Red Balloon - MAC Playland Collection

A while ago, I had a little accident at MAC and my bank balance got severely injured, and that included two items from the MAC Playland Collection. One of those items is a lipstick I had had my eye on for quite a while and had swatched so many times I had lost count, so I finally bit the lipstick bullet and bought it. That lipstick was a lovely little Summer shade named Red Balloon!

This lipstick is a bright cool toned pink, described as "hot fuchsia" and has an amplified finish. The application is amazing - it glides on your lips beautifully due to it's gorgeous creamy formula and it applies with no tugging and has impressively high pigmentation, one sweep is more than enough to get a beautiful opaque finish and it feels comfortable and buttery smooth to wear. Of course, this smells just like the rest of the MAC lipsticks, vanilla! I really do love the scent of their lipsticks.

Eminem at Wembley Stadium - Saturday 12th July 2014

If you know me, or have been following my twitter or instagram for a while - you will know I have a lot of love for Marshall Mathers aka Eminem. He is my idol and inspiration - that man inspires me in so many ways it's unbelievable, plus it helps he is absolutely gorgeous! So, when I found out he was performing a concert in London I knew I HAD to get tickets - apart from festivals he hasn't performed a gig in the UK since 2001, and after recent interviews where he said he's probably going to go into producing more now and doesn't know about another album yet, i knew I had to see him live as I had a gut feeling it was probably going to be his last. So after bugging my friend for a good few days - she agreed to come see him with me. However, the tickets where released 2 weeks before payday so I had 0 money, however my gorgeous friend bought the tickets on release day so I could give her the money when I got paid to make sure we got tickets.

She bought the tickets at just after 9am on the day of release and we were right at the very top, at the back of seating. Luckily the other friend we were going with managed to snag us tickets for another show - when the tickets went on sale, another show was added but not announced - so we managed to get standing tickets! (long story short.. we managed to sell the others for the same price we paid for them).

I also live in Yorkshire - quite a distance from London, however my best friend who I was going with lives in Portsmouth, so she told me I could stay at her house! I bought my train tickets plenty of time in advance so got a very good deal and everything was set. If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram you would have seen the countdown to the best day of my life.

A Bobbi Brown lesson on Classic or Smokey eyes

After a visit to the Bobbi Brown counter in Meadowhall a few weeks ago, I discovered that they did complimentary lessons. Most beauty counters offer lessons and make-over services but required an amount to be paid which is reedemable in products on the day of the makeover. However, with Bobbi Brown, the lessons are free and you are not forced to buy anything if you don't want too. I think the makeovers being free is absolutely brilliant, as I'm relatively new to the brand and hadn't tried anything from Bobbi Brown before so I liked that their was no commitment there that would make you buy anything as your not always guaranteed to like everything - as with everything, everyone has their own opinions and preferences.

You book in for whatever lesson you want - from basic lips to a full on party look, or a step by step guide to create a flawless look. Each lesson varies in length from 15 minutes to a full 45 minutes, depending which makeover/lesson you choose. This time around I opted for the 'Classic or Smokey eye' lesson, which says it lasts 15 minutes. I chose this lesson as I'm not amazing an eye make-up, due to my love of a bold lip I often keep the eyes very light and natural to balance everything out.

This is my make-up just before I left the house. I didn't put on any eyeshadow at all as I knew I was going to Bobbi Brown for my lesson. Also ignore the rubbish eyebrows - I was getting my eyebrows waxed and tinted at Benefit just before my lesson.

LUSH American Cream Condtioner

So I though considering as it's American Independence day as I write this (July 4th) I thought it was only appropriate to write something American-themed (kind of) so I went with American Cream conditioner by Lush Cosmetics! I've been getting into Lush more and more over recent months, so after a trip during my lunch break I picked up this. I originally went in for a hair mask, but discovered they were out of my price range (especially for a one use product!) so I had a look around the Shampoo/Conditioner section of the store - I settled on this. I went for a conditioner as I'm constantly trying to improve the condition of my hair as i'm almost rid of the damaged parts thanks to years of dying/bleaching/killing it during my teenage years.

The Duchess Eyeshadow Quad - The MAC Osbournes Collection

Unless you have been living under a blogging rock for the last few months, you will of course know that Kelly and Sharon Osbourne have released a collection with MAC that started to appear in stores during the early parts of this month. Being a huge fan of the Osbournes anyway (many nights as a teen were spending watching The Osbournes at night time!) I knew I had to have a piece of the collection, and at the top of the list was Sharons Quad of eyeshadows! From the colours in each range (Kelly having more purples and Sharon having the warmer tones), Sharon's would be my favourite - and I was right.

I wasn't surprised to see the collection sell out like hot cakes (Strip Poker which is a nude lipstick from the Kelly Collection soldout within 12 hours at my MAC counter! With almost the entire collection selling out within a week - so I got this eyeshadow quad (and an item from Kellys collection) the day after release to make sure I didn't miss out.

FOTD: An afternoon shopping

So on Thursday, I once again met up with the absolutely lovely (and stunning!) Georgina from SheMightBeLoved.com  after she finished work to go shopping - and I actually LOVED my make up that day. It took me four attempts, thanks to hayfever and my mascara deciding it wanted to stab me in the eye and make my eye water several times (which meant reapplying my base several times!) but I really liked the outcome!
