Illamasqua Intense Lipgloss in Succubus

A few weeks ago whilst having a mooch at Illamasqua online I came across something magical.. a few items were more than HALF PRICE! So, after work the next day I quickly made my way up to the Illamasqua counter and found the items that were half price - there were 6 intense lipglosses and 6 nail polishes. One of the nail polishes I also picked up in the shade Velocity, and can be seen here

One of the intense lipglosses I picked up is this shade, named Succubus.

The lipgloss comes in a black cardboard box with light cream/gold detailing and a small hole in Illamasqua's signature shape so you can see the product and colour inside. You get 7ml of product for your money - not bad for the 50% price tag!

All of the items I got in the 50% sale had the packaging a little damaged - although this wasn't why they are reduced, it's because they are old stock that are being discontinued (but if you want some, they are still available on the Debenhams website and in store although some shades are selling out)

The product itself comes in a clear plastic tube with a plastic doe foot disperser to get the product out so you can glide it on your lips. The product is quite thick so you have to squeeze the tube quite hard to get it out, but with this lipgloss, a little goes a long way and it is VERY highly pigmented - one of the most pigmented lipglosses I have ever tried.

The colour itself is a classic blue based red - one of those fantastic red shades that, when you wear them, make your teeth look super white! However, it is a very thick lipgloss and it can feel quite heavy on your lips until you get used to it, and it is a sticky lipgloss which doesn't really go away - so if your not a fan of sticky lipglosses, stay clear of these (all of the Illamasqua intense lipglosses have this sticky quality to them). Because of the texture and stickiness of the product, it makes it quite difficult to apply and it takes some effort to drag out over your lip, which renders the plastic doe foot applicator which is meant to make it easier, useless. Also, because of the way the product comes out, you can't be very accurate with this product at all, so if you want accurate and pricise lines around your cupids bow then I would advise you to use a lip brush to apply it rather than apply directly from the tube.
